A Place Just For You
John 14:15says"If ye love me, keep my commandments".
For now, I want to focus on the commandment that says
"Thou shall not steal" (Exodus 20:15).
What is stealing?
Stealing is taking something from someone by force, fraud or without their knowledge. There are various kinds of thefts.
There are private thefts such as the picking of pockets, shoplifting, burglary, carrying off goods etc. Then you have public thefts: holding someone up and robbing them, defrauding the public, taking a loan without any intention to pay it back or robbing someone of their good name by helping to spread gossip etc. We also have domestic thefts, as in when spouses take away their mates' goods or money without their knowledge or consent; parents too, who rob children and vise versa; workers may also rob their bosses of time as well as material things.
I'm sure we have all been guilty of not keeping this commandment; however, let each man search his own heart and if we are found lacking may we be faithful enough to ask God to set us on the right path. For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also. (James 2:26)
1 John 2:4 - He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
Wikipedia's definition of depression is that it is "a state of low mood and aversion to activity that can have a negative effect on a person's thoughts, behavior, feelings, world view, and physical well-being. Depressed people may feel sad, anxious, empty, hopeless, worried, helpless, worthless, guilty, irritable, hurt, or restless. They may lose interest in activities that once were pleasurable, experience loss of appetite or overeating, have problems concentrating, remembering details, or making decisions, and may contemplate or attempt suicide. Insomnia, excessive sleeping, fatigue, loss of energy, or aches, pains, or digestive problems that are resistant to treatment may also be present."
If you are fighting depression you are not alone. Many of God's most faithful servants have suffered from depression. In the Bible, Moses, Elijah, David, and Job had to deal with it.
Psalm 34:18, 19 - – The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. (19) A righteous man may have many troubles, but the Lord delivers him from them all.
Psalm 37:23-24 - – If the Lord delights in a man’s way, he makes his steps firm; though he stumbles, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with his hand.
